Abstract
With the rapid development of the human-centered society, a combined trend of linguistics and culture study has been undertaken in modern research worldwide.
In particular, metaphor study has been considered closely in the cognitive context rather than linguistic ornament. As we studied, metaphors reflect processes of thinking and therefore they require us to rethink some of our basic notions of meaning, concepts, and reason are grounded in our imaginatively structured. With this reason, the aim of this paper is to study a model of Conceptual Mapping (map relation between concrete source domain and abstract target domain) focusing on ontological -based metaphors that are deployed by economic reports. In order to achieve the aim, the research objectives were raised 1) to design a model of economic metaphor processing which is formed through conceptual mapping and 2) to determine national identity through the context of ontological metaphors. The method of our research was supported the theory of the conceptual metaphor which was developed by Lakoff.J and Johnson.M. The metaphorical expressions that describe the modern socio-economic situation were selected from an official media such as journals, magazines or news websites in Mongolia. The research data were analyzed and described by qualitative methods.
