Any participation in any SOAS GLOCAL Conference service will constitute acceptance of this agreement.

By accessing and using the SOAS GLOCAL Conference services, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. In addition, when using the particular services respective to the SOAS GLOCAL Conferences, you shall be subject to any posted guidelines or rules applicable to such services, and to any changes to these rules, which may arise at any time. Any participation in this service will constitute acceptance of this agreement. For those who wish to not agree with the terms of the SOAS GLOCAL services, they shall refuse to participate in the SOAS GLOCAL services.

The SOAS Global Council for Anthropological Linguistics (The GLOCAL) Privacy Policy

The SOAS GLOCAL believes that privacy is crucial to the success and use of any service both offline or on the Internet. This statement sets forth The SOAS GLOCAL’s policy, and describes the practices that it will follow with respect to the privacy of the information of users of this site, and of the SOAS GLOCAL services in general. Should any users or participants have any questions regarding this policy or the SOAS GLOCAL practices, they can email glocal@soas.ac.uk.

What Personal Information the SOAS GLOCAL Collect

The SOAS GLOCAL collects the personal information online of all users of SOAS GLOCAL services when they voluntarily provide it to the SOAS GLOCAL. If the users choose to register online, the SOAS GLOCAL asks that they provide limited personal information, such as their name, address, telephone number, and email address. The SOAS GLOCAL also collects information that will allow users of its services to establish a username and password, should the users wish to register for SOAS GLOCAL log in services.

How to Review and Change Your Personal Information

If users of the SOAS GLOCAL services register for a conference account, they may review and change their personal information by logging in to the conference website, then clicking on their name at the top of the screen, and then by clicking on ‘Manage Profile,’ or by logging into ‘Manage my Account.’

How We Use Personal Information That We Collect Online

The SOAS GLOCAL may use the personal information of its users within The SOAS GLOCAL: (1) to provide users with the services they request; (2) to answer questions about the services of the SOASL GLOCAL; billing, payment methods or use of the SOAS GLOCAL websites; (3) to process or collect payments for SOAS GLOCAL services; and (4) to contact SOAS GLOCAL users about the products and services offered by the SOAS GLOCAL.

Disclosure of Personal Information to Third Parties

The SOAS GLOCAL will not disclose any personal information to any third party (excluding contractors to whom the SOAS GLOCAL may provide such information for the limited purpose of providing services to the SOAS GLOCAL and who are obligated to keep the information completely and fully confidential), unless (1) users of SOAS GLOCAL services have authorized the SOAS GLOCAL to do so; (2) the SOAS GLOCAL is legally required to do so, for example, in response to a subpoena, court order or other legal process and/or, (3) it is necessary to protect the property rights of the SOAS GLOCAL related to this website. The SOAS GLOCAL exercises great care to protect the personal information of its users. How can you help protect your information?

When registering and using a SOAS GLOCAL website, the SOAS GLOCAL recommends that its service users do not divulge their passwords to anyone. The SOASL GLIOCAL will never ask users of its services for their passwords in an unsolicited phone call or in an unsolicited email. Intellectual Property

The Site and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by The SOAS GLOCAL, and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property or proprietary rights laws.

Payment and Refund Policy

All bookings made prior to the conferences and other services provided by The SOAS GLOCAL must be paid in full to guarantee registration or usage. Once payment has been received, an email confirmation will be sent. If payment is not made at the time of booking, registration will be provisional. All payments must be made by credit card, bank transfer, Wing, or any other service stulted by The SOAS GLOCAL. Payment by check can not be accepted, unless clearly stipulated in writing by The SOAS GLOCAL .

Special Rates: In order to quality for these rates, booking and payment must be received before the deadline date listed in the conference marketing material.

Delegates may nominate an alternative person from their organization to attend The SOAS GLOCAL events up to 72 hours prior to the start of those event at no charge, unless otherwise stipulated by The SOAS GLOCAL

All registrations to the (SCOPUS/ISI) SOAS GLOCAL events are refundable in full up to four months from the date of payment, and will be refunded directly to the payer’s payment source. After this four month period, there will be a $20 USD fee, and the refund will be sent to the payer’s PayPal account, as The SOAS GLOCAL CALA cannot refund directly to a credit card after this four month period. At this time, PayPal will take a small transaction fee.

All attendants and registrants, to SOAAS GLOCAL events, and predominantly students and affiliates who receive lowered registration, must be prepared to present identification upon arrival at the SOAS GLOCAL events, and hence upon receiving even identification, such as conference badges.

All registration fees to SOAS GLOCAL events must be forwarded to the SOAS GLOCAL or any representative body, such as collaborating universities or the CALA, COMELA, MEALA, AFALA, COOLA, or SCAALA committees, by the date specified on event respective websites, in order for a place in the even to be guaranteed. The SOAS GLOCAL receives an overwhelming response globally, and hence the SOAS GLOCAL attempts to accommodate to everyone, but space is limited.

Alterations to programs, cancellation/postponement of events

The SOAS GLOCAL reserves the right to make alterations to the program, venue, and timings. of its events, In the unlikely event of these programs being canceled by The SOAS GLOCAL, a full refund will be made. Liability will be limited to the amount of the fee paid by the delegate.

Termination Policy

The SOAS GLOCAL may terminate access to the Website of users, without cause or notice, which may result in the forfeiture and destruction of all information associated with the account of the user. All provisions of this Agreement that, by their nature, should survive termination, shall survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.

Changes in Terms and  Conditions

The SOAS GLOCAL reserves the right to change these conditions from time to time as it sees fit. The continued use of The SOAS GLOCAL site will signify the acceptance of any adjustment to these terms by the users. If there are any changes to The SOAS GLOCAL website privacy policy, The SOAS GLOCAL will announce that these changes have been made, on The SOAS GLOCAL home page or on other key pages on The SOAS GLOCAL site. If there are any changes in how The SOAS GLOCAL uses the site’s customers’ Personally Identifiable Information, notification by email will be made to those affected by the change. Any changes to the privacy policy if The SOAS GLOCAL website and other services ill be posted on The SOAS GLOCAL website 30 days prior to these changes taking place. All users are therefore advised to re-read this statement on a regular basis
