RESPONSIBILTIES

  • To ensure that all procedural, ethical, interpersonal, legal, and academic requirements are executed and met
  • To facilitate engagement with the GLOCAL, both internally and externally
  • To observe the central importance of equality and opportunity for all, both within and external to the academic sector
  • To seek out pathways through which to develop the field of linguistic sociocultural anthropology and peripheral fields
  • To communicate internally and externally to the GLOCAL to resolve any ongoing, pending or potential issues
  • To convene on events, publications, and processes that require deliberation and decision
  • To discuss and decide on policy and constitutional changes
  • To facilitate the selection of, and the organizing of, all committees, and their members, within the GLOCAL structure
  • To contribute to the ensurance that all GLOCAL processes, financial, policy, organizational, legal, academic, communicative, and so forth, are maintained

MEMBERSHIP

Members of the GLOCAL Central Committee are invited, following several nominations and then a vote for inclusion into the Central Committee.

Members normally remain in the Central Committee until such a time as when they choose to step down.

MEETINGS

Central Committee meetings are ideally held two to three times per year, and are generally online. However, at times, electronic communication is made with Committee members, who then comment, vote, or advise as such, either through email, online through voting processes, and so forth.
