In General
This GLOCAL Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement is based on the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics). The GLOCAL Conferences always uphold the highest standards of publication ethics, while ubiquitously acting against publication malpractices. As such, The GLOCAL Conferences always act ethically with regards to publications, and reject all plagiarism, preserve confidentiality of submitted work, fully guard (against) copyright issues of all published material, publish only original material, and thus fully support the publication process. Here, all articles submitted to The GLOCAL conference proceedings are peer-reviewed. English language is a condition for all submitted abstracts and content in papers, with the exception of necessary data in other languages and forms.
Publication Name
The GLOCAL, The Global Council on Anthropological Linguistics, represents a council of academics, in various institutions globally, working in, or in field pertinent to, the field of Linguistic and Cultural Anthropology. The GLOCAL thus has six sub associations, where each of which focuses on one of six global regions, respectively. These are

The GLOCAL thus organizes six conferences annually, from each of which, a respective conference proceedings book is published, containing work by presenting authors and their associate authors. The name of each respective conference proceedings book will be The GLOCAL and its conference proceedings event, for example, The GLOCAL CALA 2019, or The GLOCAL COMELA 2020, and so forth.
Editorial Board
The GLOCAL publication editorial board comprises the members of the GLOCAL committee. These scholars all represent expertise in various aspects of global Linguistic Anthropology. All information pertinent to each of these committee members is made available by The GLOCAL on its website. Similarly, all contact information for the Editor in Chief, and for the GLOCAL editing administrator is available on the contact page.
Plagiarism
The GLOCAL defines plagiarism as exposing work by oneself that derives, past a fundamental unrecognizable unit, from the work of others, whom the author of the plagiarized work neglects or refuses to acknowledge as rightful owners of the original work, and hence without due, legal, and ethical acknowledgement.
The GLOCAL will not under any circumstances accept nor tolerate any form of plagiarism, and will similarly not tolerate any of its collaborators engaging in such practice. As such, GLOCAL adheres to principles throughout these guidelines, that stipulate originality and rigor in research and publishing in Linguistic (and Cultural ) Anthropology.
By submitting to GLOCAL publications for consideration, all authors immediately transfer all authority to The GLOCAL to practice jurisdiction over rightful ownership of work, and as such, authors allow The GLOCAL to exercise policy to act against plagiarism. Authors of these plagiarized works will immediately be contacted to either promptly alter their submissions and any related work, or will be removed from GLOCAL publications at once. Significantly, any libel material and legal repercussions of plagiarism will not be the responsibility of The GLOCAL in any part or in full, and hence the authors of the work submitted to The GLOCAL will be fully responsible for these actions. The GLOCAL holds in very high regard those parties who act against plagiarism, irrespective of the quality of the submitted work, and hence those who continuously seek to develop the standard of their original work. Here, The GLOCAL will work to assist those who attempt to raise the quality of their work through originality.

Peer-review process
The Peer Review Process at GLOCAL not only aims to maintain a high standard of work submitted to and published by GLOCAL, but also to assist GLOCAL to continuously seek ways in which to raise this standard, as a process pf affirmative action research. The GLOCAL defines peer-review as the garnering of critical input on work submitted by authorities in the field relevant to the submitted paper.

The GLOCAL organizes the peer review procedure so as to ensure that multiple reviewers blind-review the submission, and in this way, The GLOCAL editors maximize the objectivity of the review process. To this, , where all GLOCAL reviewers should support their recommendations with concrete arguments.

The GLOCAL Editors attempt to most effectively ensure that there is no conflict of interest between the Reviewers and the Authors.

Reviewers should maintain full confidentiality with work reviewed.

Manuscript reviewers will ensure that authors acknowledge all data sources. Any similarity or overlap between the manuscript and other publications will be immediately brought to the attention of the Editor.

Through visiting talks, The GLOCAL provides training to facilitate learning of peer review knowledge. As such, The GLOCAL seeks to continuously encourage increasingly strengthening systems of peer review, and also seeks to limit unethical practices within which peer review is avoided so as to benefit biased intentions in publishing.

The GLOCAL encourages all authors and editors to comply with strict peer review requirements, as stipulated in these guidelines and in COPE’s Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers, or in the Association of American University Press’ Best Practices for Peer Review more appropriate.
Archiving
The GLOCAL proceedings will be archived indefinitely. The GLOCAL platform will also be available indefinitely, with plans to expand to an increasing number of academic institutions. Here, the proceedings will this be available to a general audience indefinitely. The publications will be free to access, download, and distribute, but containing all necessary and conventional copyright, as stipulated in each publication.
Ownership and management
The GLOCAL, The Global Council on Anthropological Linguistics, is a unit at SOAS, University of London. As such, the GLOCAL publishing facility is situated within SOAS.
Publishing schedule
The GLOCAL conferences are held annually in each of six locations globally, each respective to its specific regional focus. As such, the GLOCAL publishes approximately six conference proceedings books per year.
