1. General Information
1.1 The GLOCAL Consortium aims to have 14 members, though this may change, and hence, two institutions at each of its global regions:
1.1.1. Africa
1.1.2. Asia
1.1.3. Europe and the Mediterranean
1.1.4. Latin America
1.1.5. North America
1.1.6. Oceania
1.1.7. The Middle East
1.2. The GLOCAL Consortium is primarily structured to
1.2.1. expand scholarship on global linguistic anthropology and related fields.
1.2.1. strengthen economies of academic scale and effectiveness.
1.2.3. address global challenges through its central focus, linguistic anthropology.
1.2.4. seek learning, research, and funding opportunities for its members.
1.3. The GLOCAL consortium seeks to significantly raise scholarship and its implementation through the coordinated and integrated efforts, successes, and mutual support of its Consortium members and their respective resources and networks, while the efforts of all bodies are integrated.
2. Roles of the GLOCAL Consortium as a Whole
2.1. To become a central platform for GLOCAL Consortium members to pursue common goals and projects
2.2. To funnel GLOCAL Consortium networks through their own respective Consortium members
2.3. To become a channel for experiential diversity, as the GLOCAL Consortium members are located in all global regions, each of which has direct access to its respective global languages, anthropologies, and networks.
2.4. To increasingly become a community of scholarly practice that affords all members and their networks increasing access to expertise in a variety of academic practices relevant to the social sciences, the humanities, and beyond.
2.5. To implement strategies that align with GLOCAL visions and the visions of the GLOCAL Consortium members
2.6. To find common ground between and among all of its affiliated bodies and other bodies which the GLOCAL deems relevant to its mission
2.7. To provide administrative support to the Consortium as a whole by
2.7.1. discussing agreements that are to be made with new Consortium members
2.7.2. managing any expenses and monies in collaboration with all members of the Consortium that are participating in any respective research or other projects
2.7.3. obtaining, maintaining, and sharing with the other Consortium members, all necessary information
2.7.4. providing regular updates to all other Consortium members and all associated networks
2.7.5. providing and coordinating secretariat support to all Consortium members at appropriate times
2.8. To provide a bank for sharing research, funding, mobility, knowledge, expertise, and publishing opportunities, where such opportunities complement the requirements and goals of each member
2.9. To act as an access portal for partner experiences and competencies
2.10. To act as a portal for sharing, within each of their respective networks, geographical, academic, and industrial niches available to other Consortium members and their networks
2.11. To share relevant administrative responsibilities in academic and research pursuits with other Consortium members
2.12. To reduce the risks of involved in academic planning and processes
3. Role of the GLOCAL within the Consortium
3.1. To actively seek to develop the GLOCAL Consortium through
3.1.1. promotion and marketing
3.1.2. developing Consortium collateral and resources
3.1.3. coordinating processes, primarily for the GLOCAL Consortium and then for a larger global network
3.2. To manage and support GLOCAL Consortium members by
3.2.1. mediating the exchange of processes and information between the GLOCAL committees and bodies and its Consortium members
3.2.2. mediating interactions among all GLOCAL Consortium members
3.2.3. managing GLOCAL Consortium membership processes
3.2.4. providing relevant resources to existing and potential GLOCAL Consortium members
3.2.5. catalyzing the integration of GLOCAL Consortium members
3.2.6. engaging with GLOCAL Consortium members collectively and individually to understand, to help prioritize, and to support Consortium membership
3.3. To provide guidance in alignment with GLOCAL requirements and visions by
3.3.1. ensuring that Consortium integrations align with Consortium stated good practice
3.3.2. actively promoting and supporting compliance with GLOCAL policies
3.3.3. ensuring that members are updated with GLOCAL developments
3.4. To provide communication channels for GLOCAL Consortium members and their networks by
3.4.1. liaising between the Consortium member, its community, and itself as the GLOCAL
3.4.2. verifying that its Consortium members’ interests are represented and that full information is provided to effect development and scholarly innovation
3.4.3. managing and executing all GLOCAL Consortium issues and processes
3.5. To Provide strategic direction by communicating the vision and mission of the GLOCAL and the Consortium through
3.5.1. strategic plans
3.5.2. annual reports
3.5.3. meetings
3.5.4. published documents
3.6. To provide administrative support to the GLOCAL Consortium members by
3.6.1. managing GLOCAL Consortium agreements
3.6.2. managing GLOCAL Consortium networks at times when assistance is requested or required
3.6.3. coordinating GLOCAL Consortium knowledge exchange
3.7. To provide indoctrination, developmental learning, and support for GLOCAL Consortium members by
3.7.1. assigning agency to each consortium member for localized and hence regional GLOCAL processes
3.7.2. serving as a primary contact through which to address any significant Consortium issues
3.7.3. providing resources and support materials for GLOCAL Consortium members to interact and develop, and to convey GLOCAL Consortium goings on to their respective networks
3.8. To develop and maintain a web interface/repository so as to
3.8.1. assist with GLOCAL Consortium member and network integration
3.8.2. develop, share, and maintain documentation, online resources, materials, and tools for GLOCAL Consortium members and their networks
3.8.3. share resources with all GLOCAL Consortium members and their networks
3.8.4. share communication and processual information with all relevant parties
3.9. To maintain a GLOCAL consortium presence at selected conferences and events
3.10. To ensure the implementation of GLOCAL Consortium projects, including management, steering, arrangements, and so forth
3.11. To identify the optimum GLOCAL Consortium members for respective segments of each project
3.12. To ensure that all monies are correctly managed and allocated in their entirety and in a fully transparent manner
3.13. To work with all GLOCAL Consortium members to provide solutions to potential emerging problems
3.14. To resolve, accommodate, and negotiate changes in GLOCAL Consortium membership
3.15. To manage any changes to the GLOCAL Consortium policy and other documents
3.16. To maintain full transparency and responsibility for communication with regards to the GLOCAL Consortium intellectual property by paying specific attention to
3.16.1. ownership of intellectual property
3.16.2. access to and distribution of information regarding such property
3.17. To assess the appropriateness of partners by
3.17.1. exercising due diligence on prospective GLOCAL Consortium members
3.17.2. monitoring the performances and activities of existing GLOCAL Consortium members
4. Requirements of Consortium Members
4.1. Planning
4.1.1. To increasingly negotiate a compatible vision with other GLOCAL Consortium members in respective areas of scholarship
4.1.2. To ensure that all planning is timely and appropriate for collaboration within the GLOCAL Consortium
4.2. Participation
4.2.1. To allocate a reasonable amount of time to all GLOCAL Consortium members for collaboration, discussion, and guidance
4.2.2. To reciprocate any efforts of members to the GLOCAL Consortium
4.2.3. To participate in contingency plans at times when GLOCAL Consortium members experience hardships in research and other scholarly collaborations
4.2.4. To catalyze the adoption of GLOCAL efforts in each respective community
4.2.5. To offer administrative support to all GLOCAL Consortium members
4.2.6. To maintain GLOCAL Consortium document repositories
4.2.7. To work with pertinent communities to identify goals, to develop policy, and to establish regular progress reporting to GLOCAL members, to GLOCAL Consortium members, and to GLOCAL Consortium member networks
4.2.8. To assist in ensuring that the GLOCAL Consortium continues to implement its programs as planned
4.2.9. To assist to resolve GLOCAL Consortium challenges in a timely manner
4.3. Integrity
4.3.1. To maintain integrity in all GLOCAL Consortium processes and networks
4.3.2. To adhere to all legalities and ethical requirements
4.4. Resolution
4.4.1. To resolve all issues pertaining to GLOCAL Consortium processes with full amicability
4.4.2. To sustain an environment of shared academic administration and learning
4.5. Governance
4.5.1. To establish local governance of the consortium
4.5.2. To oversee progress and support conversations about research policy and cross-sector engagement.
4.5.3. To serve as a bridge between the GLOCAL and the GLOCAL Consortium, and hence a liaison, so as to accelerate the understanding of best practice and speed with which GLOCAL Consortium members adopt and negotiate GLOCAL practices
4.5.4. To assist to develop and maintain a scholarly community of practice, building on findings and lessons learned across the community
4.6. Communication
4.6.1. To ensure that all partners, members, subordinates, networks, and other parties, are continually informed as to GLOCAL Consortium information and activities
4.6.2. To continuously report, in full transparency, any processes relative to the GLOCAL Consortium
4.7. Privacy
4.7.1. To maintain full discretion with regards to all GLOCAL Consortium information until such a time as when the information is formally disclosable to parties outside of the GLOCAL Consortium
