Panel Abstract
The main objective of this study is to develop a valid protocol to classify and analyse the grammatical morphemes of Filipino-dominant children ages 4:0-4:11 in Metro Manila, that is, during their early years of educational and language socialization.
This study employed psychometric analysis with a cross-sectional design to develop a valid tool to measure descriptive data in the morpheme production of Filipino language-dominant 4 to 4-year 11-month old children from in Metro Manila, that is, in their early years of language socialization. A Content Validity Index rating of 0.75 indicated that the protocol was indeed valid in terms of analyzing the overall morphemes of these children in their early years of socialization. A sub-analysis with the data used in the protocol presented the quality and suitability of similar future data, wherein probable language analysis and interpretation can be presented.
The study has indicated that the use of a validated protocol containing segmentations levels, glossing rules, and coding systems, becomes effective in measuring and analyzing the frequency and morpheme function of spoken language, not only in the context of the Philippines, but also with possible ramifications globally.
